At the General Chapter 2016, Sister M. Kristin Battles was re-elected as Superior General. 

The General Council consisting of six members from different countries were also elected at the Chapter.

The General Chapter reviewed  the life and the apostolic Involvement of all the units of the Congregation.                                                                                         A vision for the next  six years was evolved and general directives framed at the Chapter. 

Focus Statement of Chapter - 2016

Trusting in God, who makes all things new, we commit ourselves to:

  • ·         Live incarnational spirituality,
  • ·         Grow in life-giving relationships,
  • ·         Be one in diversity.

The main themes set for discussion and Implementation were:  

  • ·         Incarnational Spirituality
  • ·         Integrated Formation for Mission
  • ·         Congregational Solidarity
  • ·         JPIC Orientation for our Life and Mission
  • ·         Forming Llife-giving Partnerships

The Significance of Incarnational Spirituality

"Incarnational Spirituality unites us into Jesus' mission to the world, to be the bearer of God's saving purpose, to be the sign and agent of God's reign which is for all."   (General Chapter Document 2016)

"Jesus wants evangelizers who proclaim the good news not only with words, but above all by a life transfigured by God's presence."  ( Pope Francis: Evangeli Gaudium 259)

"All of us can cooperate to be instruments of God for the care of God's creation, each according to his or her own culture , experience, involvements and talents. " (Pope Francis: Laudato Si 14)

Integrated Formation for Mission

An integrated formation for mission would enable the members to be efficient and effective in their mission.

  • ·        Avail ourselves of continued professional education and skill training  for our specific ministry to be                      affective and effective  in a constantly changing world."
  • ·         Develop skills in non-violent communication to foster a climate of peace-making and respect for  others.                                                                                                                                                               (Chapter directive 2)

Congregational Solidarity

Our missionary spirit challenges us to immerse ourselves in the culture of the people we serve and discern with them their needs.  As we share their life, we enter into solidarity with them and are mutually enriched. (Const, Art. 67)

  • ·        Strengthen our conviction that we are one single human family.
  • ·        Promote a culture of apostolic mobility
  • ·         Develop sensitivity to the realities of tribalism, regionalism and racism
